1936 – 2016
AUBURN — Pauline D. Duplisea, 80, of New Gloucester passed away peacefully at Clover Manor, Auburn, on Thursday, July 28.
She was born Pauline Dudley on April 7, 1936, in Chesterville, the oldest child of N. Oscar and Gladys Dudley. She attended high school in Gray, graduating from Pennell Institute in 1953. She married her high school sweetheart, Carl T. Duplisea on Nov. 14, 1954. She worked for the state of Maine in various capacities for 30 years and lived in New Gloucester for the last 38 years.
Pauline is survived by her children, Cheri Taylor and her husband, Rodney, of Auburn, Todd Duplisea of Norway and Sandra Coulombe of Gray; her four grandchildren, who were the light of her life, Michelle Strattard of Gray, Rebecca Sexton of Austin, Texas, Jessica Duplisea of Durham and Jeffrey Duplisea of Falmouth. She is also survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and William Solomon of Durham; and a brother and sister-in-law, Clifton and Pamela Dudley of Avon, Conn.
Pauline enjoyed activities with her grandchildren. She attended band concerts, softball games, band competitions, Special Olympics and anything else her grandchildren were involved in. She was a great cook and baker, especially famous for her whoopie pies. Her grandchildren looked forward to making Christmas cookies every year.
Her family would like to thank Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice for its support in the last weeks of her life. They also thank Clover Manor for trying to make her last days comfortable.
