1927 – 2016

AUBURN — Cecile P. Leblond, 89, a resident of Lewiston, passed away peacefully early Tuesday, Aug. 9, at the Hospice House following a short illness.

She was born in Lisbon, on June 26, 1927, the daughter of Fernando and Lucia (Roy) Roux.

She attended St. Peter’s School and graduated in the top 10 of her class from Lewiston High School in 1946. On Nov. 12, 1955, she married Robert A. Leblond at Saints Peter and Paul Church, now the basilica.

She worked for 17 years at the Bates Mill in the main office billing department. She also worked for the former Carrier Detective Agency as a secretary until her retirement.

She was an avid bowler for many years and played cribbage with the Lewiston Senior Citizens. She was also a volunteer for Seniors Plus which she really enjoyed. She was a member of Holy Cross Church, now the Prince of Peace Parish.

Survivors include her son, Robert and his wife, Connie, of Tempe, Ariz.; her grandson, Seth and his wife, Tiffany, and great-grandson, Gavin of Tempe, Ariz,; and her granddaughter, Hope, from Colorado. Also surviving are nieces and nephews; a cousin, Elizabeth Hag of Kennebunk; a special friend, Betty Ames, who was constantly by her side; and a special neighbor, Rita Dick.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Robert; her brother, Ronald and his wife, Florence.
