LEWISTON — Deux Voix, a trumpet and organ duet, will perform in concert Wednesday, Aug. 24, at 7:30 p.m. at the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, 122 Ash St.

Founded and based in Houston, Texas, Deux Voix represents one of the most cherished and historical combinations of musical sounds — trumpet and organ —and has transformed it to appeal to a wide range of audiences.

Langham and Distad have performed in numerous cities and music festivals around the country. They presented a wildly successful headlining program for the L’Organo Series at the Piccolo Spoleto Festival in Charleston, South Carolina last summer, where they performed the formal dedication concert for the new organ at The Citadel, and set a new record for the largest crowd for in the 30-year history of the series. They were also featured in the American Guild of Organists magazine, detailing their performance in Charleston. Among their upcoming gigs, is a performance at  St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York City.

He also studied under Marie-Claire Alain at the Conservaoire de Rueill-Malmasison in Paris.

Langham is an active freelance musician, composer, arranger, and teacher in Houston. Originally from Mobile, Alabama, he earned a double bachelor’s degree in trumpet performance and composition from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, and earned his masters in trumpet performance at the University of Houston.
