1950 – 2016

BOWDOIN — Sylvia A. Hammond, 65, of Bowdoin passed away Tuesday, Aug. 16, at home with her friends and family by her side.

She was born on Dec. 10, 1950, in Dover, N.H., to parents William and Evelyn (Goodwin) Philbrick.

She enjoyed doing crafts, fishing, hunting, traveling, rollerskating and cooking. Sylvia especially loved spending time with her family and friends.

She worked for many years in salons, as a beautician and cosmetologist.

Surviving her are her husband, David Hammond; a daughter, LeeAnn Kennedy; a son, Edwin and Lori Russell Jr.; two grandchildren, Richard Dubois Jr. and Olivia Russell; her great-aunt; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins and many, many friends.

Sylvia was predeceased by her parents, sisters, uncle, nephew, and a granddaughter.
