GRAY — Rich Charette, singer-songwriter of many popular children’s songs, will make his sixth return appearance from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday, Sept. 10, at the Maine Wildlife Park, Route 26.

More than 1,000 children and their families have come each year to hear Charette. He will sign autographs after the show. The public is invited to bring cameras and lawn chairs.

Charette has released a new CD of all original songs. Titled “Seven Ate Nine,” it is Charette’s 12th release of original children’s music and contains 16 original new tracks. The CD, four years in the making, grew from the inspiration Charette received from his performance tours and workshops with young children throughout the U.S. and the arrival of his new granddaughters. Several of the song ideas came from songwriting workshops as children would share ideas from a point of view that only a child could imagine.

Rick Charette began his career in 1983 with the release of his first album “Bubblegum” by Activity Records in New York, which was soon followed by “Alligator In The Elevator” (which contains his anthemic song “I Love Mud”) on his own Pine Point Records label. He went on to create 10 more CDs, two picture books and several DVDs that altogether have sold nearly a half million copies throughout the U.S. CDs will be available for purchase after the show.

Regular park admission fees will be in effect.
