AUBURN — Balls & Tracks, the next program in the Discoveries in STEM series at the Auburn Public Library, will be from 4 to 5 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 15, at 49 Spring St.

This ongoing monthly program, presented by the University of Maine Cooperative Extension, is conducted by Maisy Cyr of 4H. The goal is to teach participants to use science, technology and math outside the classroom.

Balls & Tracks consists of marble and pipe insulation, and there are various challenges participants must complete, including making the marble go over a hill and completing a loop-dee-loop. It’s an introduction to physics using the laws of motion.

This program is just for teenagers ages 12 to 18. It will be in the Teen Space.
