1939 – 2016
SALEM, N.H. — Rachel J. Labrecque, 77, of Salem, N.H., passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side, Sunday, Aug. 14, after a six-year battle with lung cancer.
Born in Salem, Mass., on Jan. 6, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Philip and Dorilda (Bosse) Labrecque. Rachel went to St. Joseph’s Parochial School and graduated from Salem High School in 1957.
She worked for Verizon for 37 years in the payroll accounting department in Salem and transferred to Lawrence as a C.O. tech in various areas in the Merrimack Valley.
Rachel loved to travel and enjoyed golfing and bowling and was also a member of the Salem Athletic Club in Salem, N.H.
She is survived by her sisters, Gertrude Labrecque of Salem, Mass., Irene Coady and her husband, Jack, of Auburn, Rita (Labrecque) Darisse of Salem, Mass., Cecile Keller and her husband, William, of Punta Gorda, Fla.; her brother, Gerard “Jerry” Labrecque of Beverly, Mass.; her dedicated friend, Lois Crawford of Salem, N.H.; 22 nieces and nephews; numerous grandnieces and nephews and cousins; and her aunt, Fernande (Belleau) Labrecque.
Rachel was predeceased by a brother, Norman Labrecque.
