In the apple world, the Honeycrisp is all the rage in Maine and throughout the country. The higher price doesn’t faze fans.

The Honeycrisp is wildly popular because of its sweet and tart taste, it’s crispness. “It’s the total eating experience,” said Turner farmer Harry Ricker, who grows tons of the rising star.

Maine orchard farmers are scrambling to grow more. The good news: Experts say Maine has one of best climates for the Honeycrisp in the nation.
