NORWAY — Stephens Memorial Hospital will offer a class on the Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension diet, known as DASH diet, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 27.

The event will be in the Harper Conference Center in the Ripley Medical Office building at 193 Main St.

The DASH diet is a lifelong approach to healthy eating that’s designed to help treat or prevent high blood pressure. The DASH diet encourages eaters to reduce sodium in their diets and to eat a variety of foods rich in nutrients that help lower blood pressure.

Pat Watson, registered dietitian for the hospital, will discuss this eating plan. Attendees can sample low-sodium heart-healthy recipes. DASH diet booklets and recipes will be provided.
