The French bakers of Lewiston and Auburn have increased the price of bread from 8 to 10 cents a loaf, the increase becoming effective yesterday. The middle school at the Buckfield Junior-Senior High School held the annual lobster bake Friday morning at the culmination of their study unit on the ocean. This is the third year for the lobster bake and students organized a jewelry sale fundraiser to help offset the cost of the food. On Friday, students paid $1 for their lobsters and teachers and visiting parents paid the full price of $2.50 for their meal. Greenwood Orchards of Buckfield donated 12 dozen ears of corn and the home economics class baked blueberry muffins for the middle school students. Earlier this year the seventh grade students spent some time in the classroom studying lobsters and lobstering and the eighth-graders have just completed an entire multi-disciplinary unit on ocean studies.
