FRYEBURG – The Maine Department of Economic and Community Development, the Department of Agriculture and other state and local officials gathered recently at Green Thumb Farms in Fryeburg to honor Cold River Vodka for the company’s recent awards.

Cold River Vodka is produced by Maine Distilleries Inc. at its distillery in Freeport using potatoes grown at Green Thumb Farms. The company is a member of DECD’s “Maine Made” program.

Cold River Vodka was awarded a Double Gold Medal at the 8th annual San Francisco World Spirits Competition, the largest and most prestigious competition of its kind in America.

It was also recently rated the Best American Vodka in “Kindred Spirits 2” by F. Paul Pacult, director of judging for the World Spirits Competition and widely regarded as the one of the industry’s leading experts on distilled spirits.

Green Thumb Farms hosted the event to honor the company’s recent success. Don Thibodeau, owner of Green Thumb Farms is a partner in Maine Distilleries.
