1951 – 2016

AUBURN — Ann Robert Lawrence, 65, of Lewiston, died peacefully Thursday, Oct. 13, at the Hospice House in Auburn.

Ann was born June 28, 1951, to parents Ira Paul McManus and Celia McManus of Leeds, where she grew up with her siblings, Kathleen McManus of Hebron and Paul McManus, now deceased.

Ann loved to knit and stitch, and spent most of her free time listening to country music while crafting some sort of project or another from pieces she picked up at yard sales and thrift shops around Maine. Her love of crafts and going to yard sales was only surpassed by her devotion to her children and her pets. Ann and her son, Scott, have two cats, Meadow and Sunshine, who are members of the family.

Ann spent the last five years working for John F. Murphy Homes at the Pleasant Street home, where she worked daily with the five members of the house and the rest of the staff, who have become her extended family. Prior to working at JFM, Ann worked for decades at Waban Projects in Sanford.

Ann is survived by her two children, Jennifer Lynn Lawrence and Alan Scott Lawrence; her sister, Kathleen Mae McManus and her two children, Michael and Ryan Buck. She also leaves behind her niece-in-law, Candice Campbell, and her three children, Abby, Lily and Violet.
