1962 – 2016

NORWAY — Derek Matthew Bonney, 54, of Norway passed away unexpectedly at his home on Monday, Oct. 31.

Derek was born in Norway on Aug. 9, 1962, a son of Corry and Gloria (Hill) Bonney. He attended local schools and graduated from Oxford Hills High School. He later attended classes at CMVTI.

He was a self-employed computer programmer and had also volunteered his computer skills with Community Concepts.

An avid sports fan, Derek enjoyed watching all sports on TV and especially loved playing baseball. He was also interested and very knowledgeable in politics and history.

Derek was especially close with his dog and companion, Apollo, who died in November 2015.

He leaves behind his daughter, Cassandra Bonney and her fiancé, James Goodrich, of Mechanic Falls; his son, Derek Bonney Jr. and his girlfriend, Rachelle, of Saco; his grandson, Colton Bonney; his father, Corry and his wife, Marjorie, of South Paris; his mother, Gloria Hill of South Paris; three brothers, Dana C. of Lisbon Falls, David of Derry, N.H., and Dwayne of South Paris; a sister, Dawn C. Bonney and her boyfriend, Russell O’Neal, of Florida; two stepsisters, Peggy Cordwell of Norway, and Lisa Bonney of South Paris; one stepbrother, Kevin Lawrence of South Paris; three nieces and two nephews.
