AUBURN – Harriman, a full-service architecture and engineering firm, announces the appointment of John P. Jacobson to the position of senior landscape architect in Harriman’s Auburn office.
Jacobson comes to Harriman with more than 20 years of experience providing landscape architectural services, including public and private comprehensive planning, town center revitalization, site design for educational, municipal, commercial and industrial facilities, streetscape design, multiuse trail/path and athletic field design.
Prior to joining Harriman, Jacobson served as a senior associate and director of landscape architecture at RBF Consulting Inc. in Phoenix, Ariz., and has been recognized for his award-winning design of the Phoenix Zoo and the town of Buckeye revitalization projects.
A native of Maine, Jacobson has more than 15 years of local design experience. He will be responsible for leading the landscape architecture effort and establishing a sustainable service-oriented presence. Jacobson is currently collaborating on the Fryeburg Academy Performing Arts Center, Westbrook Middle School and the Bridgton Academy master plan.
Jacobson received his bachelor of science in landscape architecture from The Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio. He is a registered landscape architect in three states, maintains national certification credentials, and is a member of the American Society of Landscape Architects. He lives in Scarborough with his wife and their three children.
