PORTLAND – Sandra Anthoine of Auburn has accepted the position of executive director of Gary’s House, a department of Mercy Hospital.

The facility serves as a hospitality house for families of patients undergoing treatment at Portland-area hospitals. Anthoine has served as the interim director of Gary’s House since June 2007, and previously served as the charitable gifts advisor in the development office at Mercy Hospital.

As executive director, Anthoine is responsible for managing operations of Gary’s House and ensuring its overall financial self-sufficiency. Key responsibilities include executing a 5-year strategic plan, and laying the groundwork for major gifts fundraising and a capital campaign.

Anthoine served in several development positions at Bates College in Lewiston prior to joining Mercy Hospital in 2006.
