NORWAY – Western Maine Family Practice and Western Maine Pediatrics were recently awarded two and three blue ribbons respectively from the Maine Health Management Coalition Pathways to Excellence – Primary Care initiative.

The MHMC Pathways to Excellence – Primary Care initiative is intended to measure, report and improve the quality and value of health care in Maine at the primary care level. PTE publicly reports information regarding the quality of care at primary care physician practices and rewards practices that demonstrate high quality care.

PTE measures and awards blue ribbons in three categories. Western Maine Family Practice and Western Maine Pediatrics both received a ribbon for use of clinical office systems that track information and manage patient care.

Western Maine Family Practice also received a blue ribbon for diabetes care. Western Maine Pediatrics earned blue ribbons for children’s immunization processes and the treatment of pediatric asthma.

Western Maine Family Practice and Western Maine Pediatrics are affiliates of Western Maine Health, part of the Maine Health family.
