Sons of Italy to meet
RUMFORD — Sons of Italy will hold their regular meeting at 1 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 11, at the lodge on Route 108.
There will be a potluck dinner. Attendees should bring their favorite dish.
Society to hold Christmas party
PARIS — The last meeting of 2016 of the Paris Cape Historical Society will be its annual Christmas party at 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16, at the home of Cynthia F. Immonen, 43 Mountain View Drive.
A potluck dinner will be served, followed by a special Christmas story and the singing of Christmas carols.
Reservations are required, and those attending should also inform the host what dish they will bring.

FCAC rabies clinic in Strong
STRONG — Franklin County Animal Shelter will hold a rabies vaccination clinic for dogs and cats from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, at the Strong Fire Department. Each vaccine will cost $10.
The shelter will also vaccinate for canine and feline distemper for $15 per vaccine, microchips for $10 each and flea and tick preventatives for $10 per dose.
Owners should bring their pet’s current rabies certificate to ensure their pets can receive a three-year vaccine.

Benefit dance for Anita Hakala
LOCKE MILLS — Shadagee Ramblers will perform at benefit dance and fundraiser from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, at the American Legion Hall, 595 Gore Road.
Proceeds from the dance will help Anita Hakala purchase a chair lift for her home.
Donations will be accepted at the door. Refreshments will be available, and those attending may bring their own beverages.

Benefit dance, supper in Rumford
RUMFORD — There will be a benefit for Ron Hemingway, who was diagnosed with mesothelioma, on Saturday, Dec. 17, at the American Legion, 24 Congress St.
Doors open at 1 p.m. for raffles. A spaghetti dinner will be served from 4 to 6:30 p.m. A dance from 7 to 11 p.m. will feature Fair Enough.
Cost is $7 for the dinner, $10 for the dance, or $15 for both. Tickets are available at the American Legion or by calling 207-364-3259 or 207-357-2647.

Weary Club meeting Dec. 17
NORWAY — Members and friends of The Weary Club will meet for coffee at 8 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 17.
