SOUTH PORTLAND – The Maine division of the American Society for Training and Development will meeting Oct. 9 at the Sheraton Hotel, Sebago Room, 363 Maine Mall Road, South Portland. Breakfast and networking start at 7:30 a.m., program from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., and resource sharing until 10 a.m. Topic for the program is “Just What Is That Elusive Thing Called Leadership?” presented by Marva Nesbit. The cost is $10 for members, $20 for nonmembers, and includes breakfast.

Nesbit has worked with the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the Department of the Navy, and the National Defense University. While on faculty at the Defense University, she taught strategic leadership and decision making to senior level military officers and senior civilian personnel. As an independent consultant, she provides consultation, training and facilitation services focusing on strategic planning, structured decision making processes and leadership skills, as well as offering executive coaching services.
