As a former resident of Lewiston it was encouraging to see a Maine private business take care of a veteran in need.

Social media brought the plight of Larry and Rikki Hilt of Poland to my attention. After years the town of Poland decided to abandon this elderly vet and his wife to the elements during the winter months and cease plowing a town-owned road.

MLS Lawn Care of Lewiston did the right thing and stepped up to make sure they were plowed out this year. It’s encouraging to know people in Maine still care for one another, especially for the veterans who served their country. MLS Lawn Care restored my faith in community and caring for one another, especially the most vulnerable.
