LEWISTON — Samantha Kay “Sam” Wakefield, 39, of South Paris, died Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 4, after battling cancer, at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, with family and friends at her side.

She was born Dec. 29, 1977, in Bridgton, a daughter of Arthur Wakefield and Sherry Allen. Sam attended local schools and graduated from Buckfield High School in 1997.

Sam loved the outdoors, particularly fishing with father. A close second was the company of her longtime companion, a pug named Mo.

She is survived by her father, Art, and his wife, Linda, of South Paris; her mother, Sherry, of Florida; a sister, Darcy, of Auburn; a stepbrother, Jeff Harris, of Bangor; a stepsister, Debbie Donovan, of Foster, R.I.
