AUBURN – Formed Fiber Technologies Inc. of Auburn has won a Project of Distinction award from the Maine Chapter, Project Management Institute. The company will be honored June 14 at an awards program in Portland.
Formed Fiber is receiving the award for developing a highly efficient process for producing automobile trunk liners, combining numerous manufacturing and quality assurance steps into a single process that significantly improved quality while dramatically reducing cycle time.
An independent panel of judges evaluated four finalist projects, applying standards adapted by PMI Maine from the Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge of the international Project Management Institute.
The awards dinner, which is open to the public, will begin at 5:30 p.m. June 14 at the Abromson Community Education Center of the University of Southern Maine. Information and registration are at pmimaine.org or may be obtained from project manager Jim Milliken at [email protected] or 772-3231.
The awards resulted from Project Management Institute Maine’s fifth annual Project of the Year competition. The judges did not select a Project of the Year.
