NORWAY – Robert C. Neilson, D.O., will be joining the medical staff at Stephens Memorial Hospital and Western Maine Surgery on April 2.

The Western Maine Surgery practice is comprised of Dr. Ratnakar Andalkar, Dr. Fernando Navarro and Dr. Robert K. Story Jr.

Dr. Neilson comes to Western Maine Surgery from Portland Surgical Associates, where he has been for 22 years. During that time, he was affiliated with Maine Medical Center and Mercy Hospital, serving as chief of medical staff at Mercy Hospital in 2005. Neilson attended medical school at Kansas City of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his internship at the Osteopathic Hospital of Maine and performed two general surgical residencies – one at Pontiac Osteopathic Hospital and one at the Osteopathic Hospital of Maine. He is board certified by the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons.

Dr. Neilson resides in Portland, with his wife.
