AUGUSTA – On Jan. 11, Oxford Hills SCORE Chapter 479 was recognized as Maine SCORE Chapter of the Year. The presentation took place at the U.S. Small Business Administration in Augusta at a quarterly meeting of the Maine SCORE Chapter chairs. Charles Summers, New England Regional Administrator of the SBA, presented the award.

Nominated by Charles Orem, district director of Maine SCORE, the chapter led the district in improvement in follow-on counseling, total sessions per member, counseling hours, other volunteer hours and total hours. The chapter has an active program for training and mentoring new members, maintains a training program for keeping member skills up to date and assiduously tracks and carefully analyses every counseling case.
