PORTLAND – At the company’s annual meeting in June, Maine Employers’ Mutual Insurance Co. and its subsidiary MEMIC Indemnity Co. awarded LEAP of Farmington and others for outstanding performance in workers’ compensation.

MEMIC recognized LEAP, a developmental disabilities service provider, for its pledge to workplace safety.

According to Nola Weston, MEMIC safety consultant, the nonprofit has developed a strong safety accountability system and has woven safety into everyday operations.

Others recognized for safety were Marden’s Inc., PAGEmployment, George M. Libby & Sons Masonry, Mount Washington Railway and North Atlantic Scaffolding Co.

Employers lauded for excellence in claims management were Oceanview Management Co., Lyman Morse Boatbuilding Co., Pine State Elevator Co., Sugarbush Resort and Kendal at Hanover.
