LEWISTON – EVM, makers of emergency vehicles for clients across the country, opened its new manufacturing facility in the Foss Road Industrial Park Sept. 23.

The 18,000-square-foot facility is nearly three times the size of its former home in Auburn. Some of the highlights of the new facility include a heated painting bay, a 30,000-gallon underground tank for pump testing, a parts inventory room, and an overhead rolling crane.

Owners Ed Pollard and Chuck DeGrandpre worked for nearly two years planning the $1.6 million project, receiving assistance from the Lewiston Development Corp.

Because of this expanded facility, EVM plans to hire five new employees to add to its 17-member team.
