LEWISTON – Doodlebugs, founded by Kristina Gallant, is a children’s art studio to help youths explore their creative side. Students ages 3 to 8 will work with watercolor and acrylic paints, colored pencils, sculpting materials, pottery, clay, charcoal, cloth and jewelry.

Gallant, a professional artist and graphic designer with Verizon, wants to provide an environment that will help children develop new ways to express themselves. Gallant feels that offering exposure to a wide variety of art will not only help build a child’s self esteem and self confidence, but will also strengthen creative skills and lead to a lifetime of art appreciation.

Sessions are comprised of 10 weekly one-hour classes. At the end of each session, Doodlebugs will host a Gallery Exhibition for all the artists.

Doodlebugs is in the Bates Mill Complex. Classes begin Oct. 1. To learn more, and to receive a brochure phone Kristina Gallant at 577-0721.
