Johnson earns administrator’s license
RUMFORD – Catherine Johnson has been awarded a residential care facility administrator’s license from the Maine Nursing Home Administrators Board, Oxford County ARC announced.
Oxford County ARC assists people who have developmental disabilities.
Johnson completed the residential facility administrators training program with the Spurwink Institute and Southern Maine Community College. She has completed work focusing on quality of life issues, recognizing and preventing abuse in residential facilities, and life enrichment and therapeutic interventions.
She is a certified nonviolent crisis intervention instructor with the Crisis Prevention Institute and is a state certified direct support professional instructor. She teaches both programs at Oxford County ARC, where she has been employed since 1994.
She serves as the residential director overseeing all operations of three group homes in Rumford and Mexico. She also serves as the administrative assistant to the executive director of ARC.
In addition to her full-time work with ARC, she provides respite care for adults with developmental disabilities and has been licensed to operate a private residential home. She previously worked for Pottle Hill Inc. of Mechanics Falls.
Cunningham joins Orbit Styling Salon
AUBURN – Grayling Cunningham has joined the staff at Orbit Styling Salon, 71 Broad St.
Working in the hair industry for more than 11 years, with recent training in ethnic hair and human hair extensions, Cunningham is certified in Vidal Sassoon precision cutting techniques and Paul Mitchell coloring.
He specializes in long hair, formal styling, men’s grooming and offers an innovative approach to the art of hair.
Owner Rich Stone works with an out-of-state company to produce his own line of products.
