Farmington – Terra Daniel has attained the status of “Clinical Ladder III” in Franklin Memorial Hospital’s Clinical Ladders program.

Clinical Ladders provides opportunities for nurses to advance in status and in salary through recognition of standards of professionalism and excellence.

Daniel is a bedside nurse in the hospital’s Family Birthing and Pediatrics unit, primarily caring for children and newborns, as well as new mothers. She has 10 years of nursing experience, with the last seven years being at Franklin Memorial Hospital.

The Clinical Ladders program, with three levels, allows registered nurses to advance within the profession without leaving patient care. There are educational requirements, peer and administrative recommendations, and a minimum working status. Level III, the highest level that a nurse can achieve, requires a bachelor’s degree and five years nursing experience or an associate’s degree with 10 years experience.

Daniel recently graduated cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Maine at Fort Kent and she maintains additional certification in pediatric nursing and general nursing practice. Prior to that she received her associate’s degree in nursing from Huron University in South Dakota.

Daniel lives in Farmington with her husband, David, a professor at the University of Maine at Farmington, and her daughter, Jordan, a student at Mt. Blue High School.
