AUBURN – Robert Stephen Graustein has been named to the faculty of the computer technology program at Central Maine Community College.
In making the announcement, Dean of Academic Affairs Patricia Vampatella said, “Steve brings with him a tremendous amount of experience in the information technology sector, as well as significant teaching experience.”
Graustein has a bachelor’s degree in mathematics, as well as certifications from Microsoft and Cisco. His teaching experience includes classroom teaching and coaching at Thomas College in Waterville.
Firm hires director for supply chain
AUBURN – Formed Fiber Technologies Inc. has hired Joshua Brown to direct the company’s supply chain.
Brown’s job is to maximize the performance of FFT’s purchasing and materials management functions. Supply chain management has evolved into a sophisticated technical field, according to FFT President and Chief Executive Officer David MacMahon.
Before joining FFT, Brown was director-strategic sourcing and director-globalization for Textron, Inc., in Bloomfield Hills, Mich., where his focus was primarily on that firm’s automotive and aerospace businesses.
He also worked in global sourcing and operations management at General Electric Co. in Erie, Pa., and Westboro, Mass.
Brown earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Clarkson University in Potsdam, N.Y., and completed graduate work in Gannon University in Erie, Pa.
He is a certified purchasing manager and a certified Green Belt in Six Sigma, a quality improvement methodology.
Prior to his career in industry, Brown was a commissioned officer in the U.S. Army.
He and his family live in New Gloucester.
