ANDOVER – Akers Ski is celebrating the opening of its new retail store with a grand opening and sale, Feb. 21-26.
The new retail space was created by adding on to an existing warehouse and renovating the entire complex.
Akers Ski, a family owned business, sells cross-country skis for racing, touring and backcountry skiing along with the accessories for the sport. Plans for the barn, which housed the previous retail space, are to use it as a ski museum and an event center to host ski races, ski demos and wax clinics.
The retail shop, located behind the fire station, is open November through February, Monday through Friday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Phone orders can be placed Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays. For more information, visit the Web site at www.akers-ski.com.
