SOUTH PORTLAND – Companies in Norway and Lewiston were honored at the 40th Maine Metal Products Association annual meeting held on Oct. 1.

The association presented several awards to honor those members for their contributions to the industry.

The Marvelous Metal Guy Award went to Harlan Bean of Grover Gundrilling of Norway.

The person nominated for this award is a favorite of the industry, someone easy to work with and dependable.

The MMPA Support Award went to Steve Boulet of WahlcoMetroflex in Lewiston. The company nominated for this award has helped the association over the past year with resources, equipment and various types of support.

Other awards were the Special Service Award given to Richard Maxcy of Knox Machine, Warren; the President’s Award to Duane Gushee of D&G Machine, Westbrook; the Business Excellence Award to Marty Arsenault of Howard Tool, Bangor; and the Coolest Metal Chick Award to Lisa G. Martin and Dorota Olaru of the association in Westbrook.

Maine Metal Products Association offers networking opportunities, marketing and development of education and training for employers, a scholarship fund for students entering the metal trades field, and services in legislative matters, work force development projects and economic development for metal and precision manufacturing companies.
