ATLANTA – Charles L. Keller, past president and chief executive officer of Pioneer Plastics Corp., was chosen to be in the first group of inductees in the newly established Hall of Fame of the Decorative and Industrial Laminate section of the National Electrical Manufacturers Association.

The award was presented on Aug. 24 at the Omni Hotel in Atlanta during the Decorative and Industrial Laminate Symposium.

The Hall of Fame selections are based on long-active members who have made significant contributions toward the development and growth of the Decorative and Industrial Laminate Industry in the United States and abroad.

Keller resided in Auburn from January 1965, when he joined Pioneer Plastics Corp., until he retired in December 1983 and moved to Boca Raton, Fla. In 1990, he was asked to return to the company as a consultant to the president. He served in this capacity until October 1998.

The Kellers were active members of Court Street Baptist Church. He was a director fo the Mid Maine Mutual Savings Bank and active in several local organizations.
