FREEPORT – The Maine Innkeepers Association announces Ron Churchill, Bear Springs Camps, Rome, is the new president.

Maureen McQuade from Inn-by-the-Sea in Cape Elizabeth is the new chairwoman of the board for 2004.

Churchill owns and operates Bear Spring Camps with his wife of 20 years. Established in 1910, the American Plan resort sits on Great Pond in Rome. Churchill has served on the Board of Directors of the Maine Innkeepers Association for nine years. He attended the University of Southern Maine.

As president of the association, he will will lead the board in promoting the association and assisting the executive director with day-to-day decision-making. The association is a provider of information and support to the lodging and tourism industry of Maine.

McQuade is the owner/innkeeper of the luxury 43-room all-suite Inn By The Sea. She was the most recent president of the association. She is a board member of the Maine Tourism Association, vice president of the New England Innkeepers Association, and member of the Maine Office of Tourism Strategic Marketing Committee.

As chairwoman, she will provide counsel to the president and other members of the board.
