AUBURN – Geiger announces its “Star” awards for the first and second quarters of 2003.

First quarter stars are: in customer satisfaction, Mark Morel of manufacturing; in process improvement, Richard Plourde of the Farmers’ Almanac; and in process improvement/business achievement, Rachelle Power of catalog merchandising programs.

The first quarter team award goes to process improvement: Jane Spurling, Anne D’Amour, Sherry Knowles, Carolyn Gauthier and Noreen Doughty. The team was assembled to develop a purchase order database on the G-Linx system to achieve a historical database for general purchases. These efforts allow users to have purchasing data at their fingertips within ten minutes by using an inquiry screen, which in the past may have taken two to three hours to research.

Second quarter stars are: in customer satisfaction, Joline Caron of office services, Kathy Childs of refill and finishing, Kimberlie Evans of Geiger West, Monrovia, and Dee Dee King of human resources; in customer satisfaction/leadership, Sandy Sperounis of total care department.
