RUMFORD – Noreen Chamberlain was recently recognized and honored at the New England Network 37th Annual Spring Conference “Strengthening the Foundation: Working with Children and Youth in Times of Trouble” at the Crowne Plaza in Warwick, R.I.
The New England Network for Child, Youth and Family Services is a training, research and networking center providing consultation, advocacy, information and technical assistance to more than 100 diverse social service agencies throughout New England.
The New England Network annually recognizes child and youth care workers who exemplify the profession of Child and Youth Care Work through their dedication to the field. They are individuals who positively impact the lives of troubled children and youth on a daily basis by enhancing the self-esteem, self-awareness, educational and life skills, behavior and personal and community relationships of the people with whom they work.
In an awards ceremony on April 10 she was the only Child and Youth Worker in Maine to receive the 2002 Best of Child and Youth Care Worker Award. Chamberlain has worked with youth for more than two decades, most recently working with troubled youth at the Leeds Bridge Home, operated by the Rumford Group Homes Inc. RGH Inc. has more than 25 years of experience serving at-risk and troubled youth.
