LEWISTON — HealthSteps fall specialty class registration is open. HealthSteps is a health education and prevention program for adults that focuses on the whole person.

HealthSteps offers a wide range of classes with the core membership fee as well as a variety of specialty classes, including:

Ballroom Dancing: Learn how to foxtrot, waltz and swing and bring a partner. Tuesdays from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., Sept. 8 to Oct. 6; instructor, Diane Williams; cost, $40 a person; Lepage Large Conference Center, 99 Campus Ave.

Beginner Belly Dancing: No prior dance experience is required; class is suitable for all ages, skill levels and body types. Mondays from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., Sept. 14 to Oct. 5; $45; Lepage Large Conference Center.

Gentle Exercise: Designed for those with arthritis, recovering from cancer or any other individual who desires a mild form of exercise. It helps improve range of motion, strength, posture, balance, and coordination. Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 to 9:45 a.m., Sept. 1 to Oct. 1; $22 or free with HealthSteps core membership; d’Youville Pavilion resident dining room, 102 Campus Ave.

Lose With Me!: A 12-week weight loss session focused on making healthier lifestyle choices. Classes include goal setting, exercise recommendations, nutrition education and peer support. Wednesdays from noon to 12:30 p.m., Sept. 16 to Dec. 2;

Osteoball: Designed for individuals recovering from cancer, those who have bone and joint related conditions and other individuals who desire a mild yet effective form of resistance training. Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:50 to 10:35 a.m., Sept. 1 to Oct. 1; $22; d’Youville Pavilion resident dining room, 102 Campus Ave.

Pilates: A six-week pilates mat class. Students can expect full body strengthening with emphasis on the core musculature. Wear nonrestrictive attire and bring a mat. Beginner Pilates, Thursdays from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.; Intermediate/Advanced Pilates, Thursdays from 6:45 to 7:45 p.m., Sept. 3 to Oct. 22; instructor, Kerrie Poulin; $60/session; Lepage Large Conference Center.

Racquetball: Specific time slots are available for registration Monday through Friday on the hour, for an hour, from 6 a.m. to noon; cost with core HealthSteps membership, $14 for the fall session; without membership, an hour once a week, $70.

Senior Fitness: Class provides participants with a safe and effective workout that includes a warm-up, cardiovascular component, resistance training to build strength, balance and flexibility exercises. Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. or 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., Aug. 31 to Oct. 2; instructor, Johanne Healey; $30; d’Youville Pavilion resident dining room.

Tai Chi: Introductory class on exercises to promote health and longevity. Tuesdays from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., Oct. 13 to Nov. 17; $50; Bank of America Room, Corinne Croteau Lepage Women’s Health Pavilion, 330 Sabattus St.

Tennis: Registration begins on Tuesday, Sept. 1, at 8:30 a.m. walk-ins and phone. Cost with core membership, $14 for the fall session; without membership, $112.

Vinyasa Yoga Flow: Beginner class in athletic vinyasa format (meaning poses and breath energetically flow together). Wear loose clothing or a leotard; avoid eating before class and bring a yoga mat and water bottle. Wednesdays from 5 to 6 p.m.,
Oct. 21 to Nov. 18; instructor, Audet; $45; Lepage Large Conference Center.
