BEALS ISLAND (AP) – The body of 60-year-old Jonesport man who went missing after going to check on his moored sailboat has been found in eastern Maine.

The Coast Guard says 60-year-old Roy Lenfesty went to check on his small sailboat Wednesday morning, as he did every day. The boat was kept off Indian Point on Beals Island.

Officials say Lenfesty’s wife became concerned when she didn’t hear from him that afternoon and called a friend to check on him. The friend found his sailboat overturned on the shore, with his dinghy attached.

A volunteer searcher found Lenfesty’s body in the surf at about 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, roughly 200 yards from his boat.
