1899: The first Farragut (TB-11) was a torpedo boat that served until 1919. It patrolled the Panama Canal during World War I.

1920: The second Farragut (DD-300) was a destroyer that served until 1930. The destroyer served in the Pacific.

1934: The third Farragut (DD-348) saw action in World War II from Pearl Harbor to Okinawa, earning 14 battle stars in the Pacific.

1960: The fourth Farragut (DLG6 and later reclassified as DDG-37) was decommissioned in 1989. It served in the Atlantic and Mediterranean.

2005: The fifth Farragut (DDG-99) is christened at Bath Iron Works. It is scheduled to be commissioned by the Navy in 2006.
