ST. STEPHEN, New Brunswick (AP) – A Mississippi man has been fined $2,000 after trying to enter New Brunswick with a loaded handgun.
Stephen Motichek, 54, was arrested Monday night at the St. Stephen border crossing across the international border from Calais.
Customs officers and a detector dog searched a truck and turned up a loaded .22-caliber revolver between the driver and passenger seats. Motichek pleaded guilty to possessing a loaded, restricted weapon as well as two counts under the Customs Act.
