PORTLAND (AP) – A spat between two fathers that began in 2001 at a youth hockey game in Falmouth and flared up last month on the lacrosse field has apparently been resolved.
Michael Hale of Falmouth dropped his bid for a restraining order against Demetri Antoniou of Cumberland before the complaint was to be heard in District Court.
After meeting separately with the two men, Antoniou’s lawyer, Peter DeTroy, said they agreed to end their dispute and treat each other with respect.
No money was exchanged, the lawyer said.
Hale won a $320 judgment in February after complaining that Antoniou threatened Hale’s 13-year-old son after a Pee Wee hockey game. More recently, Hale claimed that Antoniou harassed him at a high school lacrosse game. Antoniou admitted to making an insulting comment, but said people with Hale had insulted him.
