PORTLAND (AP) – The Coast Guard’s Eagle, sometimes called “America’s Tall Ship,” made its first visit to Portland Harbor in three years on Friday.
The 295-foot Eagle will spend three days at the Maine State Pier and be open for tours from 10 a.m to 5 p.m. Saturday and from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday. Admission is free.
The Eagle is a three-masted, square-rigged barque that serves as the official training vessel of the U.S. Coast Guard Academy. It last visited Portland Harbor during the OpSail Maine 2000 parade of tall ships.
