WATERVILLE — Area residents were among the 478 seniors who graduated from Colby College on May 21, receiving a bachelor of arts degree at the college’s 196th commencement. Former Vice President Joe Biden was the guest speaker.

Alyssa S. Andrews, who majored in sociology, attended Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School and is the daughter of Jeffrey and Roberta Andrews of Norway.

Michelle C. Boucher, who majored in psychology, attended Fryeburg Academy and is the daughter of Gerard and Sarah Boucher of Fryeburg.

Shane Gallagher, who majored in French studies and Spanish, attended Thayer Academy and is the son of Janet Gallagher of Needham, Mass., and Michael Gallagher of Newry.

Joshua D. Hews, who majored in mathematics and computer science, attended Hebron Academy and is the son of Mark and Deborah Hews of Poland.

Lydia R. Larson, who majored in global studies and government, attended Gray-New Gloucester High School and is the daughter of Kathryn Larson of New Gloucester.

Deanna M. Morris, who majored in economics, attended Maranacook Community School in Readfield and is the daughter of John and Patricia Morris of New Gloucester.
