FARMINGTON – Two women were issued court summonses Tuesday on charges of felony theft of items valued at more than $1,000 from Wal-Mart, police Detective Marc Bowering said.

Elizabeth Wallace, 27, of Jay, and Anastasia Henderson, 38, of Wilton, were charged with the theft of 97 DVD movies, a digital camera and two DVD cases.

The items were hidden in the cases and taken from the store on Dec. 29. Store surveillance equipment helped lead police to the women, who were summoned to appear in court Feb. 20.

The items have been recovered by police, he said.
