JAY – Nearly a dozen teenage boys have signed up to compete in the Miss Jay High School contest scheduled for Thursday, April 10.

It is a fundraiser for the Class of 2008’s Project Graduation.

There are 10 or 11 boys participating so far in the pageant that begins at 7 p.m. in the Jay High School cafeteria, senior class adviser Mary Sirois said Monday.

She was a judge at a similar contest at Mt. Blue High School in Farmington in years past, Sirois said.

“I think it’s going to be a lot of fun,” Sirois said of the Jay pageant.

Contestants will be judged on evening gowns, talent and responses to questions and responses to certain scenarios.

There is a possibility there will be singing and dancing before and after the pageant, Sirois said.

Admission is $3.

There will also be audience prizes and baked goods available during intermission.
