FARMINGTON – A candlelight vigil to honor soldiers’ and Iraqis’ deaths will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 25, in front of the Farmington Post Office.

The Western Mountains Peace Action Workshop called the vigil after Monday’s announcement from the military that there have now been 4,000 soldiers killed in the Iraq war.

That number does not include the thousands of Iraqis also killed in the war, said organizer Eileen Liddy.

“Regardless of your beliefs about the value of the war, please come and honor those who have died as a result of it. Come when you can and stay as long as you can,” she said.

Candles will be available.
