FARMINGTON – A Rangeley man pleaded guilty Thursday in district court to violating his conditional driver’s license.

Joey McLafferty, 74, was ordered to pay a $200 fine plus $50 in other costs, according to court documents.

McLafferty, a former pharmacist, was charged with the violation after he was stopped by police Oct. 22 and registered a .07 percent blood-alcohol level. He had been given a conditional driver’s license that allowed no alcohol after he was convicted in May 2007 of drunken driving.

“He came to court and admitted to driving when he shouldn’t have been and paid his fine in full on the same day,” said his attorney, Woody Hanstein, of Farmington.

McClafferty signed a consent agreement in December with the state to have his pharmacy license revoked after he admitted to complaints that were filed against him.
