FARMINGTON – Franklin County Budget Committee members plan to meet today to discuss their recommendation for a 2008 spending plan for county operations.

Commissioners are recommending a proposed $4.8 million package.

Committee members expect to hear answers on a list of questions they submitted to the county clerk.

Among those was why commissioners voted unanimously in November to include a 2 percent cost-of-living increase in the budget for nonunion workers when initially commissioners approved 3 percent in the budget in October.

The budget meeting begins at 5 p.m. at the courthouse.
