RANGELEY – Voters re-elected Selectman James Stone on Tuesday and elected Donald Nuttall for the second position on the board.

Stone received 156 votes and Nuttall 146 over the third candidate, Shepard Golub, with 68 votes.

Stone has 12 years experience on the board and has also served six years on the School Committee, four years on the appeals board and on the budget committee. Nuttall serves as a member of the budget committee and has served two years as a selectman, chaired the Ordinance Committee and Zoning Board of Appeals and served on the Planning Board.

School Committee members Joanne Chapman and Virginia Nuttall were re-elected. Nuttall received 214 votes, Chapman 115 votes and the third candidate, Shepard Golub, received 92 votes.

Chapman has served on the school board for nine years and was a teacher for 34 years. Nuttall has served on the board for three years and has worked as a teacher and administrator for 25 years.

Two seats on the Park Commission will be filled by Barbara Quimby, who got 109 votes, and Kerry McMillian who had 122.

John Cannizzaro was the only candidate for two positions on the Sewer Commission. Along with Cannizzaro, Daniel Perkins was a write-in vote and has accepted the position.

Two positions on the Rangeley Water District will be filled by Vernon Bean with 69 votes and a possible write-in candidate. Davis Wurts and Mary Boothby each received three votes. Boothby has declined the position, but Town Clerk Laura Haley was not sure Wednesday whether Wurts would accept the position.

Both state bond issues were passed by Rangeley voters.
