NEW SHARON – State police are investigating an early Thursday break-in at Sandy River Farm Supply on Route 2 where burglars took the cash register, cartons of cigarettes and scratch tickets, among other items.

Police are looking for two suspects, both white males, one about 5-feet, 10-inches tall weighing 170 to 180 pounds and the other about 5-feet, 5-inches tall weighing about 130 pounds, Trooper Aaron Turcotte said Thursday.

Entry was gained into the general store through a side window, he said. An employee discovered the break-in around 4:30 a.m.

Turcotte is hoping someone may have driven by the store about 3:15 a.m. when the burglary was ongoing.

It is possible that a white Jeep Grand Cherokee was heading west on Route 2 past the store about 3:12 a.m., Turcotte said.

The driver of that vehicle and anyone who may have driven by or may have information is asked to call State Police at 1-800-452-4664.

The store is equipped with video surveillance cameras.
