LIVERMORE FALLS – Selectmen on Monday approved soliciting bids for the town’s 1974 ladder truck and replacing 14 sets of windows at the town office.
The truck will be advertised in newspapers and on the Maine Municipal Association and the town’s Web sites, Town Manager Martin Puckett said Tuesday.
Livermore Falls is expected to get the 1989 ladder truck the town purchased from Farmington before the end of May.
Bids for both items are due Monday, June 4.
Selectmen also voted to have the town donate materials to improve a vacant lot at Route 4 and Main Street, Puckett said.
The Livermore Falls Downtown Betterment Group plans a work day at the plot on the morning of Saturday, May 19.
The town plans to donate some old granite, composted top soil, hay and seeds and any equipment needed, Puckett said.
The group plans to spruce up the area with flower beds that another group is donating.
Selectmen also are looking for volunteers to serve on the Board of Appeals, Planning Board and Board of Assessment Review to fill vacant seats.
